Another Year Dawns

Image
2022 is just around the corner. What does it have in store for us, and what do we hope to accomplish? Edith Lovejoy Pierce (quote above) makes a lovely suggestion. I wish you all a Happy New Year and many more to come. You can follow the Author at her  website  and on  Twitter .

Recognition

Indeed! I was honored to receive an award for the 61 poetry publications that I achieved in 2021 (actually, by today’s date, it is 62, with an additional three accepted for publication in 2022). It is most humbling to be awarded by the High Country Writers of Boone, NC, my fellow writing colleagues. Thank you,  High Country Writers , for your support and encouragement. Writing: A daunting endeavor

Image
That’s where I am now in the process of writing my first novel. I’ve completed the first draft and received comments back from my brave beta readers. Now the next step is to “kill my darling,” to dig in, cut and splice, and re-create to make a better product. With this concept in mind, it’s a good thing I began with a large “rock” of a book, so I have plenty to hone. Better than starting with a pebble! It was necessary for  m e to write, I had to do it; as I wrote, it became possible, and now completing the impossible is within sight. You can follow the Author at her  website  or on  Twitter .
